So whatsup my dudes.
I think most people who know me know that i do a lot of art. It's basically the thing keeping me alive. But those of you who don't know, heres a little bit of backstory to my artistic ambition.
So i started doing art legitimately as a thing i want to achieve in life ever since i kept a sketchbook. The first time that happened was in my first year of highschool. before that i was already going towards art, but did not realize it was the thing, the It factor, my lifeblood. Our art teacher was nice enough to buy us these gorgeous A4 sketchbooks. And i was in a boarding school at the time. So there wasn't really anything to do next to study or bore yourself to death. there wasn't anywhere to go. As in most boarding school rules i presume the rule is you aren't allowed to leave campus grounds under a certain age. 5 days out of 7. I was stuck on this campus. So there wasn't anything to do but pursue creative retreat in my spare time. I would spend wednesday afternoons or most of my spare time in my room illustrating or reading.
Now, my view on art, and knowing what i wanted to do with my life happened one day it was 16. It was the final day of my expulsion from school. a week before that i got into a very agressive exchange to words that led to a one sided fight. And on my final day i went to this exhibition of Ed Templeton. Now, i was familiar with ed templeton and his skateboarding carreer. So i was interested and went. And blew my mind wide open. From that point I knew i wanted to be an artist. Or at least die trying. I wrote myself out of the shitty school i was in and attended art school for a total of 4 years. then college came, but fuck college it has ruined me. Albeit it heightened my interest in zine-making.
I still try and do shit everyday. but i thought it would be nice to have a thread with incomplete works and concepts, and perhaps some raw shit i still have around. I had an external HDD but it died on me a while back. So now i'm scrounging weblogs and all of that to find some of my works.
it won't be some artistic epiphany. More of an archive of stuff i have around. Raw scans. MS paint comics and works, maybe a completed work here or there. So nothing new to the peeps who know me, but hey, if you're new and want to see my stuff, here's your chance! if it catched your atttention, you can always click on my profile and check out all the links i've posted on my profile.
